What This Solves

Most people who want a sauna at home stop at the same place: it seems to mean groundwork, an outdoor base, an electrician and planning. An infrared cabin skips all of that. It stands in a spare room, plugs in, and heats you directly rather than heating the air - which is why it needs no construction at all.

Why You’ll Want to Use It

  • Fits a spare room, a landing or a garage conversion without building work.
  • Plug-in installation — no dedicated outdoor base, no chimney, no plumbing.
  • Far-infrared heat reaches a usable temperature quickly, which makes a short session realistic on a weekday.
  • Canadian hemlock construction with a plain digital control panel rather than a menu to learn.
  • The most affordable route into the Lumin range if you are the only regular user.

Why Buyers Choose This Model

  • The smallest cabin in the Lumin range and the lowest entry price - the least committing way into near-daily heat therapy.
  • Freestanding indoors: no base, no groundwork, no permanent alteration to the room.
  • Canadian hemlock, a low-aroma timber that suits indoor rooms better than cedar for people sensitive to scent.
  • Specified for both 110V and 220V, so it can be matched to the circuit you already have.
  • It can be moved. If you rent, or expect to move house, the cabin goes with you.

What Each Feature Actually Does

Far-infrared heating
Warms your body directly instead of heating the room, so the cabin runs at a much lower air temperature than a traditional sauna and reaches usable heat quickly.
Plug-in, freestanding
No base, no plumbing and no building work - the reason an indoor cabin can be a decision rather than a project.
1-2 person size
A 47 x 39 in footprint fits a spare bedroom, basement or garage conversion without redesigning the room.
Canadian hemlock
Light in colour and low in aroma, which suits an indoor room where a strong cedar scent would carry through the house.
110V / 220V specification
Matched to your existing circuit. An advisor confirms the supply at your property in writing before your order is released - a dedicated circuit is the sensible way to run any cabin.
Digital control panel
Set temperature and session length directly, so a session starts without fuss.

Designed For

Best for

  • Indoor rooms — a spare bedroom, basement, garage conversion or home gym
  • Owners who want heat therapy without building work or a dedicated outdoor base
  • Renters and movers who need equipment that can be relocated
  • Anyone pairing infrared heat with cold immersion in one recovery room

Not ideal for

  • Three or more people - choose the Lumin Three
  • Buyers who want a published wattage before ordering - see the Lumin Two
  • Anyone who wants the humid heat and steam of a traditional sauna - infrared cannot make steam
  • Outdoor installation - these are indoor cabins
  • Commercial premises - commercial use is not covered by the standard warranty

Technology

Infrared saunas heat you rather than the air around you. Emitters in the cabin walls radiate far-infrared energy that your body absorbs directly, so the cabin runs at a much lower air temperature than a traditional sauna while still raising skin and core temperature. That is why an infrared cabin plugs into an ordinary room and reaches temperature quickly, and why the experience feels milder and drier than heater-and-stones heat. The manufacturer specifies the Lumin One for 110V and 220V supplies and supplies it with a digital control panel. The manufacturer does not publish a heater count or wattage for this model. Rather than estimate one, an advisor confirms the figure with the manufacturer in writing before your order is released. Confirm the circuit at your property with an IMPERVITA Wellness Advisor before ordering — the cabin plugs in, but a dedicated circuit is still the sensible way to run it.

Choosing Between the Models

Choose the Lumin One if it is mostly one person, most days, and the room is small. The Lumin Two adds a second seat, a touchscreen, audio and an ionizer, and is the only cabin in the range with a published wattage - which makes sizing a circuit straightforward. The Lumin Three is the three-person cabin at 60 in long. If you want humid heat and steam rather than infrared, the Auris cabins are traditional heater-and-stones saunas for outdoors.

FAQ

How many people does it really seat?

The manufacturer rates the Lumin One for 1–2 people. It is genuinely comfortable for one and workable for two sitting side by side. If two people will use it together regularly, the Lumin Two is the better fit.

Does it need special wiring?

The manufacturer specifies 110V / 220V and describes the cabin as plug-and-play. Even so, a heater of this size is best given a dedicated circuit rather than shared with a room's existing load. Confirm your circuit with an advisor or a licensed electrician before ordering.

Can it go outdoors or in a garage?

It is specified for indoor use. A heated, dry garage conversion is usually fine; an unheated garage, a covered porch or anywhere it can freeze or take moisture is not. The manufacturer does not publish a climate limit, so ask an advisor about your specific room.

How much wattage does it draw?

The manufacturer does not publish a wattage figure for the Lumin One. Rather than estimate one from the other models in the range, an advisor confirms it with the manufacturer before you order. An advisor can request it from the manufacturer before you order.

How is it delivered and can I move it later?

It ships freight to a kerbside appointment at 725 lb crated. Cabins of this type assemble from panels and can be taken apart and moved again, but plan the access route — doorways, turns and stairs — before delivery day.

What does the warranty cover?

One year, covering the infrared heating panels, control systems, wood structure and electrical components in normal residential use, starting when you receive it.

Why the Lumin One

The most common mistake in buying a home sauna is buying one that needs a project attached to it — a base, a circuit, a permit, a contractor. Momentum dies somewhere in that list and the sauna never gets bought at all.

The Lumin One is the opposite proposition. It is a 1–2 person Canadian hemlock infrared cabin that goes into a spare room, a landing or a garage conversion, plugs in, and works. It is the smallest and least expensive cabin in the Lumin range, and if you are honestly the only regular user, it is also the right one — the money saved against a larger cabin is better spent on the cold plunge that pairs with it.

Compare the Lumin models

Related products

Who it suits — and who it does not

It suits a single regular user or an occasional pair, indoor rooms, renters and anyone who wants heat therapy without building work.

It does not suit two people using it together every day — the Lumin Two is specified for that — or anyone who wants traditional steam-and-stones heat, which is what the Auris cabins do.

Residential and commercial use

Specified for residential use. the standard manufacturer warranty excludes commercial use unless separately agreed, so gyms, studios, clinics, hotels and rental properties need different terms — speak to IMPERVITA PRO before ordering rather than after.

What to settle before you buy

The room itself

Allow the cabin footprint plus clearance to open the door and room to walk past it. The cabin needs a level, solid floor and a little breathing space around it for airflow. Bear in mind these are heavy — check the floor if it is going anywhere other than a ground floor or a slab.

The circuit

These cabins plug in, which is their great advantage and also the thing people get slightly wrong. A plug-in appliance drawing this much current for 30–45 minutes at a time should be on its own circuit rather than sharing with a room’s existing load. Have an electrician confirm the circuit before delivery — it is a small job booked in advance and an annoying one booked afterwards.

The output figure

The manufacturer does not publish a wattage for the Lumin One. We will not estimate one from the other cabins in the range, and you should be wary of any retailer who does. If the exact draw matters for your circuit, ask an advisor and we will request it from the manufacturer before you order.

Access and assembly

Cabins of this type ship as flat panels and are assembled in the room, so the finished dimensions are not the constraint — the panels and the crate are. Freight delivery is to a kerbside appointment. Measure doorways, stair widths, turns and lift dimensions on the route, and confirm crate sizes with an advisor before ordering.

Installation

Delivered by freight to a kerbside appointment for customer placement and plug-in set-up. The manufacturer does not offer its professional installation service on the Lumin range, so we do not offer it here — assembly and siting are yours to arrange. If you would like help thinking that through, an advisor will walk the room and the route with you before you order.

Maintenance

Very little. Wipe the benches and floor down after use and leave the door open so the cabin dries; hemlock is left unsealed and will change tone slightly over time, which is normal and excluded from warranty cover as a defect. Keep the glass clean with a non-abrasive cleaner, and keep the emitters clear of towels and clothing. Follow the manufacturer’s supplied setup and maintenance instructions — departing from them affects your cover.

Shipping and lead time

Every unit in these ranges is made to order, so the lead time is production time rather than a warehouse pick. The manufacturer currently quotes approximately 15–30 business days for this range. We confirm the current window when your order is placed, and we will not give you a fixed arrival date we cannot stand behind.

Delivery is by freight carrier to a scheduled kerbside appointment. Shipping to the continental United States is included in the price shown. Read our shipping and delivery terms.

Warranty

The manufacturer provides a 1-year limited warranty on the Lumin collection, covering the infrared heating panels, control systems, wood structure and electrical components in normal residential use. Cover begins when you receive the product.

What is not covered: Normal wear, discolouration or changes in wood appearance over time; improper installation or failure to follow the setup and maintenance instructions; misuse or neglect; unauthorised modification or repair; commercial use unless separately agreed; and damage from weather, fire, flood, pests or power surges.

Warranty cover applies to the original purchaser, is non-transferable, and requires proof of purchase. IMPERVITA handles the claim with the manufacturer on your behalf — you do not chase the manufacturer yourself. Warranty information.

Returns and transit damage

Freight damage is the one thing worth being strict about. Inspect the crate before the driver leaves, photograph anything that looks wrong, and note it on the delivery paperwork. Report damage or a defect within 7 days of delivery, with photographs, before installation.

Outside of defect and transit-damage claims, the manufacturer treats made-to-order units as final sale. That is precisely why we would rather talk the specification through with you first. Your statutory rights are unaffected. Read our returns policy.

Sauna and cold plunge together

Most people who buy an Auris or Lumin sauna are building toward the same thing: heat and cold in one place, so a contrast session does not depend on a gym timetable. The Frost Cold Plunge is the cold half of that set-up.

Plan the two as one project rather than two purchases. The things that catch people out are practical, not technical:

  • Layout and sequencing — how far you walk between hot and cold, wet, in bare feet.
  • Power — two appliances, two loads. Establish what each needs before either is delivered.
  • Water and drainage — where the plunge empties to, and whether that point is where you want the tub.
  • Delivery — two freight deliveries, two access routes, ideally not on the same afternoon.
  • Maintenance — a plunge needs regular attention; a sauna needs very little. Be honest about that upfront.

We do not sell a discounted bundle for this. What we do instead is plan it with you — build your recovery room or speak with an advisor and we will sequence it properly.

What the research actually looks at

Infrared and traditional saunas are different exposures — different temperatures, different durations, different mechanisms — so findings from one do not automatically transfer to the other. Evidence varies by protocol, population, temperature and technology, and none of it establishes that this product diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents any condition. We publish the papers so you can read them yourself.

Browse the IMPERVITA Research Library. Nothing here is medical advice — talk to a qualified clinician about your own circumstances, particularly if you are pregnant, or have cardiovascular or blood-pressure conditions.
