Two systems can look identical on paper and differ by thousands.

Specification sheets are written to be read one at a time, which is exactly how two very different systems end up looking equivalent. Put up to four side by side on the things that genuinely differ — price, dimensions, capacity, warranty, delivery and installation — and the real gaps show up in about a minute.

What this tool compares

Placing systems side by side is the fastest way to see where they genuinely diverge — and where a difference is real rather than a difference in how it was described.

  • Dimensions and capacity — exterior footprint, interior usable space, and who the system actually fits.
  • Electrical requirement — the specification that most often stalls an installation.
  • Warranty terms — which components are covered, for how long, and whether labour is included.
  • Delivery and installation — curbside or white-glove, and whether assembly is included.
  • Price — last, deliberately, because it is the only figure that means nothing on its own.

Comparing before there is a shortlist

If you are still deciding which technology fits rather than which model, comparing products is premature. Each category guide sets out the specifications that actually differ within it, and what to ask a manufacturer before you get as far as a shortlist.
